before your appointment

how to get the most out of your makeup application

EXFOLIATE

Your foundation will only look as good as your skin does. Always exfoliate 1-2 days before a big day of wearing full glam makeup. It makes the biggest difference in the way that your foundation sits throughout the day, and your skin will thank you for it! If you have a dry skin type, it is recommended that you do a hydrating mask the night before to hydrate your skin on a deeper level so your skin doesn’t drink your foundation. DON’T apply sunscreen before your appointment, as this will cause flashback.

BROWS

Having freshly waxed/threaded brows makes your makeup look super clean and crisp. It also provides a perfect frame for eye makeup, especially if you're wanting a cut crease look.

FAKE TAN

Having the correct tan on can make a huge impact on how your foundation matches. It can be very hard to match foundation to a tan that doesn’t suit your skin. I suggest finding a tan that works well with the undertone of your skin.
A general guide to follow is;
Tan easily/olive skin= violet base
Very fair skin= ash base
Pink undertone/all rounder= green

I also suggest not to fake tan your face, as the foundation sits better on bare skin. Make sure to blend your neck well instead of leaving a defined line of fake tan on your chin.

Follow these steps and I will have a perfect base to work on!
